Rosa María Rodríguez, harpist.



She began her harp lessons at the age of 7 at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Badajoz with Professor Noemí Martínez, and finished the 2010/2011 academic year with honours at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Madrid, under the guidance of Professor Susana Cermeño, also obtaining the Extraordinary Award at the end of her career for her research work "The harp of the Scottish Highlands".

She has won the First Prize in the international harp competition "Arpa Plus" four times and also the Surpise Star Award Maria Rosa Calvo Manzano in one of them. He has received harp lessons of renowned harpist as Andreas Mildner, Elisa Mediero, Susanna Mildonian, Alexandra Clemenz, Stephen Fitzpatrick, Sidsel Walstad and Margaret Knight.

Having been a founding member of the Orquesta Joven de Extremadura, she is now regularly invited to perform with the Orquesta de Extremadura. She has also collaborated on several occasions with the Orquesta Sinfónica de la Región de Murcia, Orquesta Internacional de Madrid, the Gran Orquesta Ciutat d'Elx, Orquestra do Algarve, Orquesta Sinfónica de Torrevieja, Orquesta Sinfónica Verum, among others. She has shared the stage with internationally renowned artists such as Raphael, Ana Torroja, Paloma San Basilio and La Oreja de Van Gogh together with the Symphonic Band of the Liceo Municipal de la Música de Moguer and she has been invited to play with María Villalón, the winner of the talent show The X Factor.

She has participated in many events, including two solo concerts at the Roman Theatre of Mérida, a solo concert in the Ruins of Santiponce (Seville), a reception at the inauguration of the "Adega Mayor" in Campomayor (Portugal) attended by the Portuguese Minister of Agriculture Jaime de Jesús López Silva, and a soloist and chamber music concert on the European Music Day held in Seville and sponsored by the Barenboim - Said Academy of Orchestral Studies. She has also been the solo harpist of the musical "El Último Jinete", premiered in Madrid on December 5, 2012 with the assistance of H.M. Queen Sofia; the Saudi Minister of Education, Prince Faisal Bin Abdullah Muhammed Al-Saud; His Highness Prince Mansour Bin Khalid Alfarhan Al-Saud; the Saudi Deputy Minister of Defence, Khaled Bin Sultan, and the Spanish Ministers of Defence, Pedro Morenés, and of Education and Culture, José Ignacio Wert, among other authorities and celebrities.

She has also performed in several Comic-Cons and video game fairs in different parts of the country, in addition to having participated in the The Voice TV show as part of the Laura Pausini's Team. She currently combines her activity as a harp teacher with the promotion of her first album The Harpy's Heart and the composition of her second album.
